Gents! Great job with this week's episode. Mark, I couldn't have recommended Maladies any better than how you did it. It's definitely an important book, way more approachable than I thought it would be. During the time I read the book, my grandma was diagnosed with a late-stage pancreatic cancer. My dad, her son, lost his battle to another series of cancers two decades ago. The book certainly helped me to see where medicine has come in the last century or so.
But egad, how horrendous has breast cancer treatment been?!? Shocking, horrifying.
Anyway… thanks for your kind words!
Wow. I feel Internet famous.
Glad you enjoyed The Steel Remains. At least I think you enjoyed it… It's a pretty intense book with plenty going on. I started the second in the series the other day and have been rereading parts of the first book to reacquaint myself with what's going on, and I'm amazed at how much more makes sense now that I'm looking at it a second time. There are a lot of things in the first book where you're like, 'Is he doing what I think he's doing? Because if he is that's awesome.' Rereading it made it very clear that there's a lot more awesomeness to come.
Thanks for a great show, as always.
I thank you very much for your kind words
